MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A northwest Miami-Dade man was charged after his son flew out of a moving car on Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
Around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Roland Delancy, 25, was with his girlfriend and their young son in a car when the couple got into an argument. According to his arrest report, Delancy’s son was sitting on his lap in the front passenger seat without a seat belt on.
When Delancy went to snatch a cell phone out of his girlfriend’s hand, she swerved and slowed down. That’s when Delancy decided he’d had enough.
“He intentionally jumped out of the car. The child fell to the roadway in the middle of traffic, lunchtime on Hallandale Beach Boulevard,” said Broward Sheriff’s spokeswoman Dani Moschella. “This is could have been a really bad situation.”
