OAK CLIFF (CBSDFW.COM) — Several ambulances and fire crews responded to a house fire which sent six people to the hospital in Oak Cliff early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the single-story residence in the 1600 block of Champagne Drive at 6:05 a.m. to find the structure fully involved.
Six people, a mother and five children, were all inside the residence when the fire began. They were transported to a local hospital and their conditions are unknown.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but a representative on scene says the fire may have been caused by a gas explosion.
Neighbors report that they could smell gas hours before the fire began.
