Man Dies After Shooting At Pembroke Pines Gas Station

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – Pembroke Pines police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place at a Chevron gas station Saturday afternoon.

According to a police spokesperson, one adult male was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital as a trauma patient.

The official said that the shooting took place at 1601 North University Drive just before 4 p.m. following an argument between the suspect and the victim near the car wash area of the business.

Police have released the suspects name as Steven Dawson, 28, of Pembroke Pines.   Police said he was last seen driving a silver Chevrolet Impala with black rims and tinted windows. Officials said the car may have been a 2008 model.

The victim was shot multiple times, police said.

According to detectives, the victim died during surgery at Memorial Regional Hospital.

Dawson is considered armed and dangerous.  Records show Dawson has a prior criminal record.
