DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) — Family and friends gathered Saturday to show support for a South Florida teen who was the victim of a hit-and-run crash that killed his little brother.
The family of Kelvron Florence held a block party at their Dania Beach home to honor him as he continues to recover after being released from the hospital earlier this week.
On Thursday, Dania Beach’s Vice Mayor Bobbi Grace honored the teen and held a drive way initiative meeting to show support for Kelvron.
Kelvron and his 8-year-old brother were rundown in December 2014 by and hit-and-run driver. Kelvron’s little brother A.J. died as a result of the crash.
It took several weeks but a tip from a community member lead police to the suspect, 22-year-old Zachary Benjamins.
