Kenyans in Diaspora send one of their own Nyangenya Bw’Omanga to vie for MP

when it comes to Nyangenya Job Omanga its not a new name. Several attemps has he made to salvage the Omogusii in general through various programs. Right from book harvesting, one shilling a day, and latest vision 2020 and free medical camps, he has become an household name.

Several times Kenyans residing in diaspora especially in USA have been let down by individuals who egocentrically need so much for themselves who have no development nor track record misrepresent them. Most of the time, some candidates have siphoned the hard earned dollar only to become sellouts or even inconsequential to the common mwananchi, whose only qualification is being a diasporian.

Much deliberations on getting a diaspora agenda has always hit a rock with little or no impact. It is because of this that diaspora has come to realization that vetted serious contenders will be their only way. For the start, Kenyans in USA took their flights to be in Arlington, Texas just to advise and send Nyangenya  Job Omanga who is vying for an MP seat in Bomachoge chache constituency in august, 8th  2017 in an ODM ticket.

According to data from the Central Bank of Kenya, East African economies received more than $3.5 billion in diaspora remittances in 2015, with the largest amounts being sent to Kenya and Uganda. Uganda posted the highest growth at 21 per cent, receiving over $1.1 billion, followed by Kenya with an 8.6 per cent increase, pushing its remittances to $1.54 billion.

It is estimated that about three million Kenyans live abroad in countries such as the US, Canada, the UK and UAE, and diaspora remittances constitute one of Kenya’s main sources of foreign exchange, amounting to $1.7 billion in the 12 months to October 2016, up from $1.5 billion in 2015.

Here are some of the speeches.
